It helps their cognitive abilities, problem solving skills, and sometimes their interpersonal skills.

A young child will babble incessantly to the stuffed dog in his crib. He will hold hours of baby talk conversation that makes sense to no one at all, except perhaps that stuffed dog. It means the baby is learning that communication is important. It is by this babble, which is usually started after seeing adults interact with one another, that will transition into cognitive, intellectual, and stimulating conversation later in life.

Who can say how many board room orators were once goo goo gah gah-ing to a Russ Berrie stuffed toy. That happy chirping and cooing coming from the baby might be him or her practicing for their inaugural address.

While this is unable to be proven, what is fact is that children who learn to play with imaginative and simple toys are best for young minds to develop. There are entire lines of toys devoted to this method of learning, but the best toys are still the tried and true stuffed cats and dogs that we all remember from our own childhoods. They are our firs friends and our first conversationalists!

Before I was born, my grandmother gave me a small, blue stuffed dog. As I was very, very, VERY little (as in, not born yet) I couldn’t name the dog. My mother, supposedly discussing what to name her unborn child, was not in any position to do it herself and named it “Puppy.”

Puppy was the stuffed animal that quickly became my favorite. He came with me to sleepovers, on vacations, and even to college. I didn’t sleep with him in my bed any longer but it was nice to know that he was there. It was a safety blanket. Puppy was a friend I could always count on.

Giving children stuffed animals like those from Russ Berrie is giving them not only a toy, but a legacy. They learn to love, share, and be friends with their very first stuffed animal.

While Puppy is no longer something that I need to sleep at night, and hasn’t been for some time, he still sits above my desk on a shelf. When I look at him, I remember all the good times I had with my friend as a child.

You can create those memories for a child with just a simple gift of a little stuffed dog.

There has been a quote circulating the internet recently that goes something like this: “No matter how old you are, no matter how tough you are, or how big you are, if a toddler hands you a ringing toy phone, you answer it.”

This is so incredibly true. Toys are enjoyed by “kids” of all ages. They bring joy to the hearts of parents and children alike. It doesn’t matter if the toy is incredibly high tech with lots of flashing lights or is a simple block set made of wood. Toys make people smile.

Welcome to the Kiddie Collection blog where we’ll be enjoying toys like Russ Berrie stuffed animals and beanie boos. Our goal is to provide you with the same smiles and joy that your parents had when you were a kid. Seeing a child playing with and enjoying an adorable stuffed dog or a little toy car can melt the heart of even the toughest biker dad.

We sell toys that your child will play with and enjoy for years to come. The stuffed animals aren’t just toys, they’re friends. The wooden blocks aren’t just playthings, they’re memories. Let us help you make those memories with your child.
